Custom Portraits.

In short

A custom portrait on walll.art starts at ₪1,500: send a photo (a couple, family, child, pet — or you), describe the style you love, and several artists submit stylized portrait versions created just for you. Choose your favorite, and it arrives gallery-printed and framed at your door.

Custom portrait — an artist painting a stylized portrait from a photo

Not another 'photo copy' — a portrait with an artist's interpretation

The difference between printing a photo and an artistic portrait is interpretation: a real artist doesn't copy the photograph — they distill its moment, color, and character, and translate them into a style: clean-lined minimalist, colorful and expressive, modern vector, or soft classic.

And when several artists each submit their own interpretation of the same photo, you discover versions of yourself you never imagined. That's what makes a portrait the ultimate gift: for a partner, for parents, or for yourself.

What you can commission

  • Couple portrait — an anniversary or engagement gift that beats any jewelry
  • Family portrait — the whole family in one stylized piece (even from several different photos)
  • Children's portrait — a childhood moment that stays on the wall after they've grown
  • Pet portrait — yes, it's wildly popular, and deservedly so
  • Stylized self-portrait — for your workspace, or as a gift to yourself

How It Works

Open a brief and attach the photo (or several) as a reference, describe the style and mood — delicate? bold? colorful? — and artists submit proposals. Each is also previewed on a photo of the wall where the portrait will hang. Choose, pay only for the winner, and within days the portrait is yours.

FAQ

What to know

How much does a custom portrait cost?

From ₪1,500 — the artwork price only; gallery printing on Fine Art paper, framing and shipping are chosen and priced separately, in a transparent price list. You set the price in advance and it doesn't change.

What photo should I send?

A sharp, well-lit photo, ideally at eye level, where the face is clear. You can attach several — the artist will choose the best angle or combine them.

Can I order a pet portrait?

Absolutely — dog and cat portraits are among the most requested. Send a good photo of your furry friend and describe their personality in the brief.

How long does it take?

7–14 days for submissions (your choice), then production and delivery within days of choosing. For a gift with a deadline — start three weeks ahead.

What if the portrait doesn't capture the likeness?

You see the finished proposals before paying — and choose the portrait that speaks to you. Payment goes to the chosen artist, with funds held by walll.art until delivery.

Can I commission a portrait from an old or low-quality photo?

Usually yes — an artist doesn't replicate pixels but interprets the person, so even an old or blurry photo can be enough. Attach the best photo you have and add complementary details in the brief (eye color, character). It's a moving way to honor grandparents and parents.

What portrait styles can I commission?

Clean-lined minimalist, modern vector, colorful-expressive, soft classic in an oil-painting spirit, or stylized illustration. Not sure? Describe the mood in your brief, and each artist will submit their own interpretation to choose from.
